Alle wichtigen Infos für den Besuch vor Ort
The Casa dos Patudos was the residence of José Relvas.
José Relvas was a farmer, an art collector, an amateur musician, a politician, diplomat and statesman. He proclaimed the Portuguese Republic on the 5th October 1910.
The project of his house was made in 1904 by the architect Raul Lino who follows a traditional and national line, faithful to the portuguese constructions.
The Casa dos Patudos marks a new language on conceptual architecture of which this house would be its first example.
In the same style as the Portuguese House, the building is full of national references.
The Casa dos Patudos opened as a museum on the 15th May 1960. There, one may find a rich and large collection of paintings, sculptures, furniture and decorative arts, from portuguese and foreign artists.
