The Museum of Warsaw is the capital’s most important cultural institution, tending to the memory of this unique city and its residents.
The Museum’s collection includes over 300 thousand objects. A major part of it are gifts from peoples’ hearts – personal items donated by Varsovians after the war. This way, they wished to participate in commemorating the city and maintaining the continuity of its history. The Museum is located in the heart of the capital – the Old Town Square, a place symbolizing Warsaw’s rebirth after the tragic years of World War II. We are an open meeting place of various perspectives, environments and ideas. Through our exhibitions and educational programmes we promote the most important social skills: tolerance, cooperation, creativity.
